Building systems that power the open web.

My background in Economics and UNIX Administration gives me a unique perspective on the web: I see engineering as a balance of efficiency, uptime, and performance.

Early experience in the WordPress ecosystem focused on solving the downtime for high-traffic blogs ensuring the sites held up to massive traffic spikes. Solving for stability and speed led to the founding of Synthesis which was acquired by Copyblogger Media. My time at Copyblogger media was spent contributing to the launch and management of three major hosting platforms: Synthesis, Rainmaker, and StudioPress Sites (2017 Fastest Host).

In 2018 StudioPress and the Genesis Framework joined the WP Engine family. (More on the acquisition 1 year in here.)

While the technical challenges of the web remain a constant, my focus has shifted from optimizing servers to optimizing organizations for flow. Today, as VP of Engineering at WP Engine, the mission is creating an environment for low-friction teams organized to thrive at scale.
